Solar Power Technology

Extracting the most energy from solar panels

Solar has become a popular choice for generating clean energy and Pulsiv provides enabling technology to ensure that every watt of free power is made available to the customer. Pulsiv HORIZON designs extract previously unexploited solar energy, efficiently produce AC or high-voltage DC electricity and can be configured to perfectly match panel capability. Making Pulsiv HORIZON available to a broad ecosystem can increase total capacity, improve the economics of solar power generation and accelerate the global transition towards renewable energy.

Features & Benefits

Efficient Architecture

Pulsiv’s split architecture provides a 98.5% efficient power optimizer subsystem for generating high-voltage DC, a 99% efficient inverter subsystem for converting to AC and a complete microinverter with 97.5% EU efficiency. Performance can be further improved by optimising critical system components.

Power Matching

When solar panels are paired with an inverter, any mismatch in power capability means wasting money on over-engineered electronics or compromising long-term financial returns by running a system at a fraction of its full capacity. Pulsiv HORIZON reference designs can be configured to match any solar panel and exploit every watt of available power.

Extract More Energy

The output from PV systems will be limited by the maximum power that can be generated by your chosen solar panel. Pulsiv has patented a way of extracting 3-5% more average power and 30% more peak power from solar panels, depending upon various environmental conditions. No matter how efficient your existing microinverter or power optimizer, they can’t extract the equivalent power of a design that uses Pulsiv HORIZON technology.

Parallel Connection

Traditional power optimizers are connected in series to create a string. Pulsiv Horizon technology produces a high-voltage DC output that allows power optimizers to connect in parallel with a central inverter. This simplifies system expansion, offers alternative installation options and reduces transmission losses.

Dual Power Interface

Pulsiv HORIZON technology provides a high-voltage DC interface in addition to a traditional AC output. This creates an opportunity for local or centralised energy storage without needing an intermediate conversion process. Popular microinverters only produce an AC output which then requires additional power electronics to support battery and super capacitor storage applications.

Electric Shocks Eliminated

Installers can often experience electric shocks when handling microinverters that claim to be fully isolated. Pulsiv technology eliminates the problem with true galvanic isolation. Engineers can be confident about comfort and safety; which are particularly important when working at height.
